A Message from Rabbi Jonathan Tabachnikoff

Welcome to Congregation Dor Chadash, a new generation of Jewish life in South Dade. At Dor Chadash, we embrace the Jewish value of honoring every person made in the Divine image. We warmly welcome Jews and those in relationships with Jews who want to be a part of our Kehilla (community). We celebrate the diversity which everyone brings with them.

I am grateful for your interest in our community. More than that, I encourage you to meet the many wonderful people who are part of this unique and growing congregation; this is a place where you can feel you belong. We are thrilled to be one of the only congregations west of the highway that has seen significant growth in families with young children and simultaneously embraces the many generations who belong to our synagogue. Our religious school grows each year, and our empty nesters gather for dinners and other programs. I have personally known many of our members since my childhood when my father, Rabbi Barry Tabachikoff z’l, stood before them as the spiritual leader of Bet Breira. Now, in my adulthood, I have the honor of being their Rabbi and the Rabbi of so many new faces who have found their sacred space at Dor Chadash. I have had the pleasure of watching my now 7-year-old grow up with his friends here in our synagogue, and as they grow, so does our future. As Herzel once said, “Im Tirzu Ein Zo Agadah”, if you will it, it is no dream. This is the story of our deep tradition, from the days of Bet Breira to our dream of becoming Dor Chadash; our spiritual home has a place for you.

For some, Dor Chadash is more than a spiritual home; it’s a place to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Many come here to learn and embrace Jewish tradition, while others find solace in the way life’s joys and sorrows are shared. I am always here for you, ready to offer support and guidance. I encourage you to reach out and become part of our close-knit synagogue family. We are eager to get to know you and cater to your spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral needs.

May this be just the beginning of a lifelong bond with us and this new generation of Jewish life in South Dade. We look forward to sharing many meaningful experiences with you as part of our community.

It is with humble gratitude that I formally accept the cantorial role of Congregation Dor Chadash. I am honored to be serving the very community where I was born and raised and to be a friend and supportive partner to your talented spiritual leader, Rabbi Jonathan Tabachnikoff.

After serving communities in New England for decades, it is our great pleasure to join this warm and vibrant community. We thank you for your welcoming hospitality and all the many staff, clergy, congregants, singers and musicians who helped to make this happen. You continue to make our transition a positive and meaningful one.

We are so thankful for you collectively opening your hearts and homes to us. In return, our door is always open to all of you. Please accept our heartfelt gratitude, as we look forward to a bright and happy future together with our growing community.
